A husband of over twenty-years and a father of a Indiana University freshman, Eric Johnson is a former 6th Grade Teacher at LaSalle Elementary for the School City of Mishawaka Public School District.



As a writer and blogger, his focus is on “the good”, sharing classroom tested instructional practices and innovative technology that enhances student learning. Eric frequently presents Ed-Tech tools and solutions to educator groups and conferences around and outside of Indiana. An advocate of social media to discover, share, and collaborate with innovative colleagues from around the world. Named to the inaugural cohort of TED-Ed Innovative Educators, a global group of educators that collaborate on innovative and inspiring projects. Recognized as the School City of Mishawaka District Teacher of the Year 2015 and a finalist for ABC-57 (South Bend) Teacher of the Year in 2012. His 2016 TEDx talk at TEDxYouth@BHS entitled "How Do You Want to Be Remembered?" can be viewed on You Tube.



Founder of the non-profit, EraseMeanness.org, his organization seeks to help students make the connection between the choices they make and the world they leave behind by promoting Kindness and empathy. Erase Meanness has reached over 100k students worldwide and its 'Pledge Day' and lesson has been used in over 13 countries and 36 U.S. States.



Founder of SpittingFire.org, a non-profit organization that organizes and promotes greater Sound Bend's largest youth poetry slam, "Louder Than A Bomb - South Bend" LTAB provides a safe space for students 14-19 to create and share their story by giving them a platform that amplifies student voices and creates communities of listening and understanding.
