Christine Austin is a fourth grade teacher at Walt Disney Elementary School. She has been using a guided approach to reading and math instruction for the past five years. As a new teacher, Christine learned to implement Guided Reading and Guided Math through personal research, experimentation, and team collaboration. Over several years, she has refined and adapted her approach. Christine feels guided instruction has a powerful impact upon student learning, behavior, engagement, and metacognition. Christine loves sharing her journey in guided instruction with other professionals because in her own classroom it is ever-evolving and ever-improving.
